Another Data Aggregator Site
Jose Mier is the name that’s easily found when using data aggregator sites like the one I just stumbled upon, Persopo.com. Sound other similar sites like peoplefinder which purport to give complete information on anyone with a specific first and last name. This website showed up in a paid ad on Google in wasn’t one of the organic search results but I has never seen the website before so I thought I’d investigate and see what information it would give me.
I simply entered the first and last name, in this case–in all cases– Jose Mier, and left the State selection to “all states.” The search results were similar to other name search websites. It told me there were 100 listings for Jose Mier in the United States, which is on par with the other results I’ve gotten.
Once again most of the Meyer names are associated with locations in California, Texas for Florida, States with a high Latino population. I did not do any deeper searches (mostly because I think they want you to pay for it) but it’s becoming clear that all of these types of sites gather information from similar (or the same) sources.
One note, I actually did find a listing for myself (Jose Mier in Sun Valley, CA) and it listed my relatives as well so I knew it was me. This is the first time in one of these sites that I actually saw information related to myself. It tells me the results are probably accurate but it also scares me that there’s so much information out there on everyone. I guess that’s life in the 21st century!
