Environmental Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineering
Jose Mier searches revealed many different people with this name from all walks of life in many different countries. My latest search has turned out the first Ph.D. that I will be adding to my list. This is another Google search, simply looking for the term “Jose Mier”, and one of the results the listing for this person who is involved in environmental hydrology at the University of Illinois.
There’s not a lot of biographical information about this person but I do know that he is from Spain—not a big surprise—and now currently in Illinois at the University at Urbana-Champaign.
This Jose Mier earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering at the University of Cantabria in 2004. He then went on to get a Masters degree in economics at that same university the following year. He earned his Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering at the University of Illinois in 2015.
He is currently employed at the Ven Te Chow Hydrosystems lab the University of Illinois. It also lists his research interests which is way over my head but includes sediment transport, river morphology and fluid dynamics.
We’ve had a lot of different Jose Miers from musicians to architects and now to a professor of hydrology. That’s something very different but very welcome. So Jose Mier Ph.D., welcome to my growing list!
